MEET YOUR SPEAKERS:
Thomas M. Lucas

Thomas M. Lucas is office managing principal of the Norfolk, Virginia, office of Jackson Lewis P.C.
Thomas represents management exclusively in the full range of employment and labor law matters, including employment discrimination litigation and traditional labor law. He has represented corporate clients, including clients in the maritime, ship repair, manufacturing, healthcare and service industries, throughout the Mid-Atlantic Region and nationally for more than 30 years. Prior to entering private practice, Thomas practiced with the National Labor Relations Board as a trial specialist and deputy to the assistant general counsel.
Shaun Bennett
Shaun M. Bennett is an associate in the Norfolk, Virginia, office of Jackson Lewis P.C. His practice revolves entirely around the laws impacting employment and the workplace.
Shaun defends employers against claims brought under the various laws, rules, and regulations which impact the workplace and the employer/employee relationship. Shaun’s practice includes litigation, employee handbook and policy review, as well as preventive client counseling. During law school, Shaun wrote an article for the Washington and Lee Law Review focused on the statutory requirements to become a whistleblower under the Dodd-Frank Act. This article won awards from both the Washington and Lee Law Review and the Association of Securities and Exchange Commission Alumni.
Shaun also served as a managing editor of the Washington and Lee Law Review. Upon graduation from law school, Shaun served as a law clerk to Justice Stephen R. McCullough of the Supreme Court of Virginia. Prior to joining Jackson Lewis, Shaun also worked as a civil litigator, representing and defending the interests of corporate clients in contract and tort litigation. Shaun now uses this experience to defend the interests of employers in the workplace.
