Speaker: Jennifer Lavinbuk

Speaker Bio:

Jennifer is a Partner in Mercer’s Washington, DC Talent practice, specializing in executive
compensation and broad-based employee pay. With 15 years of experience, she works with clients
in a broad range of industries including, but not limited to, aerospace and defense, government
contracting, technology, financial services, REITs, and telecommunications. She is also well
versed with the unique compensation issues facing tax-exempt organizations such as international
nongovernmental organizations, quasi-governmental regulatory bodies, and not-for-profits.
Jennifer has served as an expert witness support on compensation matters in Public Utility Rate
Commission hearings and Defense Contract Audit Administration litigation. She has been retained
by counsel of TEOs to provide expert support for negotiations with the IRS on executive
compensation matters.  Jennifer is also a member of Mercer’s Tax-Exempt Community of Interest where she assists in the development of the Mercer processes for establishing reasonableness.
Her responsibilities include:
Assisting organizations in designing compensation philosophies that are aligned
with their business strategy.
Designing executive, broad-based, and international employee total-compensation
systems that support organizations’ business strategy.
Developing short and long-term incentive programs that align executive and
employee performance with organizational goals.
Designing performance measurement and management programs.
Evaluating pay competitiveness including valuing all aspects of compensation
relative to peer companies and peer performance.
Providing corporate governance and Intermediate Sanctions/Reasonable
Compensation guidance.
Conducting Trustee and/or Director compensation studies using published surveys,
Forms 990, and proxy filings.
Providing expert-witness support in regulatory proceedings (e.g., DCAA audits) and
lawsuits concerning compensation issues.
Jennifer earned a Bachelor of Arts in international relations and minors in economics and political
science from the University of Pennsylvania.
