SHRM Learning Objective: Identity Theft

Revisiting HR’s Role as Gatekeeper: Proactive and Reactive Strategies for Protecting Employers and Employees from Identity Theft and Scams.

In nearly every incident, thieves targeted Human Resources and Finance professionals to facilitate their crimes. In today’s digital and fast-paced age, it’s imperative that Human Resources and Finance professionals stay vigilant against the threat of identity theft. This presentation will delve into current and evolving methods of identity thieves, strategies for how to prevent and react to incidents, and resources for continued education on proactive practices.

Objectives Include:

  • Methodology of identity thieves and scammers
  • Executing a risk assessment to identify vulnerabilities and deploying proactive safeguards
  • Impact on business and employees
