SHRM Learning Objective: Moving through Change: Getting There from Here
Approved for SHRM and HCRI recertification credit.
It's normal to resist, and even resent, organizational change. An inconvenient building expansion that disturbs parking, a departmental restructuring, regulatory changes or a cultural phenomenon that will impact HR policy... and we are often required to serve as the "change agent," helping the rest of our teams to get through. Well, help is here! Dr. Angela Spranger, SPHR, SHRM-SCP, will develop the business case for approaching organizational change intentionally and thoughtfully. You'll get a brief overview of three theoretically sound models of effective change management so that you can take one back to your workplace and guide the strategic management of your next change initiative.
Specifically - In this session, participants will:
- Discuss examples of change initiatives handled poorly
- Identify and analyze the forces at work in a change initiative
- Revisit one change initiative and reconceptualize its management
