 A survey of employment and labor case law and statutory developments before the Virginia, Federal and U.S. Supreme Courts in 2019-20.  Recent rulings useful for Human Resource Professionals to help guide them through the maze of current workplace issues.

Speaker: Thomas Lucas

Speaker Bio:

Tom Lucas is a partner with Jackson Lewis, a national labor and employment law firm. Tom represents management clients in the full range of labor and employment law matters, including employment discrimination and traditional labor law. He has practiced throughout the Mid-Atlantic Region and nationally on traditional labor issues for over 25 years. His clients include firms in the maritime, government contracting, manufacturing, healthcare and service industries. Tom has been recognized in Best Lawyers in America in Labor & Employment Law and Virginia’s "Legal Elite" and was recently elected as a Fellow in The College of Labor and Employment Law of the American Bar Association. Prior to going into private practice, Tom practiced as a Trial Specialist and in the General Counsel's Office with the National Labor Relations Board.

Specialties: Labor & Employment Law - counseling and litigation on behalf of corporate clients in employment discrimination law. Training, counseling and representation of corporate clients in union campaigns, collective bargaining, arbitrations and related litigation.
